FEAR, APPREHENSION DEFINE SURVIVORS 10 YEARS LATER

(PORTLAND, Ore., Sept. 9, 2011) - Ten years ago pilots of four airplanes attacked New York City's Twin Towers, the Pentagon and crashed into a Pennsylvania field forever etching Sept. 11th into the minds of American citizens.  'For those who survived the attacks, there is fear and apprehension,' says Pastor Marcos Rivera, who still leads Primitive Christian Church in Manhattan as he did on Sept. 11, 2001.

'On Sept. 11, we were able to see everything from our church.  We saw the planes ... heard the sounds,' Rivera said in a phone interview from his home that is next door to the church. 'Today, I can see in our neighborhood and our church ... the memories are coming back.  The people are apprehensive.'

Rivera adds that there have been benefits of his congregation being in the middle of everything:  'Our church became a center for helping people.  And thankfully, Medical Teams International came alongside us to help us.
