Liberia: Death Threats against two reporters

Individuals believed to be acting in favor of Representative Edwin Snowe have threatened the lives of two reporters of the New Dawn and have also vowed to burn down the paper’s offices for reporting on how Mr. Snowe allegedly dished out US$1,000 to a young lady for striping herself naked at a bachelor eve party held at his residence last week.

The reporters are Edwin Genoway and Nathaniel Daygbo; both were at the scene of the incident and filed the report. Under the headline “Snowe’s US$ Makes Woman Go Naked” in this paper’s Wednesday edition, it was reported that Rep. Snowe offered to give US$1,000 to any young girl who would agree to strip naked at the party graced by several government officials, including ministers.

In the process, a young lady instantly undressed herself and walked naked in the room where everyone was sitting. Mr. Snowe gave her the money.
