Three individuals were hospitalized after their boat capsized in the frigid water near Ocean Beach Thursday evening.
San Francisco Fire Department crews responded to the scene, on the beach by Taraval Street, shortly after sunset. Authorities did not provide further information, and the condition of the victims remains unknown.

SFGate reports that two Good Samaritans came to the boaters' aid before the rescue team arrived:
A man named Ryan, who lives in the area but did not want to give his last name, said he was taking an evening jog on the beach when he saw a woman near the surf waving her arms and noticed she was struggling to drag a man to shore. He picked the man up and carried him to shore.
