February 20 marks the 50^th anniversary of John Glenn’s three orbits of Earth in the space capsule Friendship 7 in 1962. At the time of the 25^th anniversary, I was a writer on Senator John Glenn’s Washington staff. Part of my job was to manage his correspondence on non-legislative matters, including space exploration.
