With hard work, a little encouragement, and a helping hand.
Laura was 57 years old when her employer of more than four decades went bankrupt. With no income, no retirement, and no means to support her disabled husband and young granddaughter, Laura knew she needed to find work.
So she set out on her own to start a small business making chocolate covered candies. She did her best, but medical bills seemed to eat up all of her profits and she had nothing left to invest in the business.
